Some wedding days feel extra personal because they Some wedding days feel extra personal because they’re built around places that already mean something.

This one started at @mudsharks.cafe , where these two had their first date. They shared their first look there, took a few quiet portraits, and then we wandered through the spring cherry blossoms nearby before ending at the Courtenay Air Park. Reaching the viewpoint platform where they had their first kiss.

And honestly, this is one of my favourite ways to photograph a wedding day.

Not by forcing portraits into the most dramatic or Pinterest-perfect location, but by making space for the places that are already part of your story.

My style leans documentary, which means I’m always watching for the real stuff: the little giggles, the hand squeezes, the quiet pauses, the way you naturally move together once you start to forget about the camera.

But documentary doesn’t mean I leave you wondering what to do.

I’ll gently guide you when it helps. I’ll give you little prompts, help with the awkward hands, and create enough structure that you feel comfortable, without making the day feel overly posed or performative.

For my Comox Valley couples: your portraits don’t need to happen somewhere dramatic to be meaningful.

Sometimes the best locations are the coffee shop where it started, the trail you walk all the time, the neighbourhood blossoms, or the little viewpoint that holds a memory only the two of you fully understand.

Your wedding day doesn’t have to feel like a photoshoot.

It can feel like a really good day with your favourite person, and I’ll be there to document it honestly.

Hey, can I let you in on a little secret… There’ Hey, can I let you in on a little secret…

There’s still space for you in my 2026 calendar 🌿

I know it can feel like everything books up fast (and yes some dates do), but if you’re newly engaged or just starting to plan… you haven’t missed your chance.

I intentionally leave room in my calendar for the couples who find me a little later—the ones who aren’t rushing, but are looking for something that actually feels right.

Because choosing your photographer isn’t about locking something in as fast as possible.

It’s about finding someone you trust to hold the feeling of your day.

If you’re dreaming up a 2026 wedding that feels:
– laid-back
– present
– a little imperfect in the best way
– and true to you

There’s still space here for you.

And if you’re not quite sure what your plans look like yet? That’s completely okay too.

We can figure that out together.

Send me a message, or inquire through the link in my bio—no pressure, just a conversation.

Chelsea 🤍

Some wedding days come with a rhythm of their own Some wedding days come with a rhythm of their own — a little quicker, a little fuller, but still completely yours.

April 25th was one of those.

Warm air, bright light, Mount Baker peeking through, moving from Bear Mountain Resort to Olympic View with just enough space to take it in.

D & L moved through it all side by side,
returning to each other in the quiet, in-between moments.

And that’s what makes these feel like them—
not controlled, not overworked… just real.

If you want your photos to reflect your day as it actually felt, not how it “should” feel — I’d love to hear what you’re planning.

What makes this kind of session meaningful isn’t j What makes this kind of session meaningful isn’t just what it looks like—it’s what it holds.

When I photograph newborns, I’m not thinking about creating perfection.
I’m thinking about what will matter to you later.

The way your baby fits into your arms right now…
how naturally you pull them a little closer without even realizing it.

The quiet pace of these early days—
and the way life has gently shifted into something slower, softer.

The small, ordinary moments that don’t feel like much while you’re in them…
but will be the ones you miss the most.

This Victoria session wasn’t styled or rushed.
There was no pressure to make it anything other than what it already was.

It was simply observed.
And that’s what makes it last.

Because years from now, these images won’t just show you what things looked like—
they’ll bring you back to who you were in this season.
