Not every wedding needs a giant design concept, a 12-step aesthetic strategy, or napkins that cost more than your first car.

Sometimes the most memorable details are the simple ones, the little creative choices that make people say, “Oh, that is so them.”

Here are 5 easy ways to add more personality to your wedding day without making planning feel like a second full-time job: 
1. Choose a location that already feels like part of your story.
This could be a beach you walk often, a family property, a trail you love, or a spot that simply feels like home. A meaningful setting does a lot of the emotional heavy lifting. 
2. Add a small ritual that feels natural.
A private vow reading, a first look with your dog, a coffee together before the ceremony, a quick ocean dip the next morning. It doesn’t have to be traditional to be meaningful. 
3. Bring texture into the day.
Blankets, handwritten notes, film cameras, wildflowers, heirloom jewelry, your favourite jacket. Small tactile details photograph beautifully and make the day feel lived-in. 
4. Think about movement, not just decor. A walk through the forest, a dance outside after dinner, a champagne pop on the beach, running barefoot through the grass, these moments bring energy and life into your day. 
5. Let one thing be a little unexpected.
A colourful bouquet, karaoke, late-night fries, matching sunglasses, a cake made by your bestie, a disco ball in the woods. It doesn’t have to make sense to everyone. It just has to feel like you.

Your wedding doesn’t need to be perfectly styled to be creative. It just needs a few thoughtful choices that feel honest, a little personal, and maybe slightly unhinged in the best way.

Because truly, if there’s a way to include your dog, your favourite snack, or a windswept beach moment… I’ll support it.

Your wedding day will move quickly.

The getting ready, the hugs, the ceremony, the photos, the dinner, the dance floor — it all becomes one big blur of people you love in one place.

One of the best things you can do is build a day that gives you room to actually be there for it.

Leave space in the timeline. Choose people who bring calm into the morning. Sneak away together for a few quiet minutes. Try not to pack every part of the day with something to do.
 Let the imperfect bits be part of it.

Because the best photos usually happen when you’re not trying to perform for the camera.

You’re just with your people, in a place that means something, taking it all in.
